A lot of people have seen this headstone, but usually cut down to the Veteran part and the quote. What most people don't know is that this is the grave of Leonard Matlovich, the first US Service member to (purposefully) come out. He was buried without his name. He was known for fighting the Military's ban on gay service members and was even on the cover of Times.
His tombstone doesn't have his name on it in order to honor all LGBT members of the military.
